Vegan

PLEASE READ THE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY. YES, YOU.
Search Google for a list of Vegan foods (there are dozens of them). Your song choice must include – BY NAME – any single Vegan foodstuff in the lyrics or the title of the song, but you may not use it in the name of the artist.  You may not use the word Vegan.

Much to my shame, there have been times when some of us in this group (me too) have displayed an irreverent attitude towards vegans, simply because they didn’t eat things like melt-in-your-mouth, deep-fried-in-butter, 28-day-aged, truly magnificent steak.
I, therefore, thought that my song tonight should not just answer to the theme of ‘Vegan’, but also educate, and share latest medical research on the subject.

Here we go with my song which includes education, and research and is about a Vegan foodstuff. This fabulous song is by the Hoosier Hotshots. The Vegan foodstuff is referenced in the song and the text. If you feel educated after watching, please do let me know.

Blueberries, an Antioxidant Superfood
Packed with antioxidants and phytoflavinoids, these berries are also high in potassium and vitamin C, making them the top choice of doctors and nutritionists. Not only can they lower your risk of heart disease and cancer, they are also anti-inflammatory.

Reviving a Louis Prima classic. These guys remind us not to take life too seriously.

I LOVE Vegan food! Whenever Debs brings her salads, my mouth waters. YUM! The flavours are just so yummy together too.
Sadly, I’m just too lazy to prep them 🙂

Some of my favourite foods are Indian dishes. These usually include yummy things like Roti’s, Chillies, and mango – all vegan items.

And one of my FAVOURITE meals, which is sadly, not Vegan, are NACHOS!

My song incorporates all 4 items, but the Nacho’s are more of a play on the word, than the food itself.

Right – you think this song is going to be the next best thing after Gangnam Style?? You tell me ….

“Under the Coconut Tree” by Nicole Sherzinger
Coconut forms a significant base in many vegan dishes. There is Coconut Milk, Cream and Dried coconut which is often added for texture. It is also used in non-vegan cooking so we should all be familiar with it. It is a creamy additive, particularly in sauces and veg curries and stews as well as many desserts. It is also a chosen alternative to cows milk.
I love this song and I hope that you enjoy it too. A bit of a sexy video especially for the guys!!!

In general, I find grapes to be a rather nice fruit. They bring a sweetness to life, some sour, a little dry too. I haven’t really found them to be wrathful, per se … (a fun fact about me: I don’t get hung over EVER, except for that one time, the day after my matric farewell). That said, I can imagine others to find grapes rather wrathful the next day, after an evening imbibing the fermented ones. However, before I go deep down a rabbit hole on wrathful grapes, I particularly enjoyed this song, which I find so relatable, especially since the lock down fever we had. I have to say I’m glad I’m still able to work from home, it is definitely way more fun getting through unnecessary meetings as the video indicates, than having to be particularly creative in getting out of the in-person meetings. In RSA we also have Eishkom, which makes it a non-event, even expected, when all of a sudden you just disappear from meetings.
