Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie Yellow Polkadot Bikini” is a novelty song telling the story of a shy girl wearing a revealing polka dot bikini at the beach. It was written by Paul Vance and Lee Pockriss and first released in June 1960 by Brian Hyland, with orchestra conducted by John Dixon. The Hyland version reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100, selling a million copies in the US, and was a worldwide hit. The song has been adapted into French as “Itsy bitsy petit bikini” and into German as “Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie Honolulu-Strand-Bikini”, reaching number one on national charts in both languages. Several versions of the song have proved successful in various European countries. In 1990 a version by British pop band Bombalurina, titled “Itsy Bitsy Teeny Weeny Yellow Polka Dot Bikini”, reached number one on the UK Singles Chart and in Ireland.

My song is full of deep meaningful thinking and has nothing to do with visuals whatsoever.
Enjoy

Often, all we need to do is change our perspective or attitude towards a problem, and everything will be right.
Not only does this song remind me of my early dating days with Deborah, but also that “putting on a new pair of shoes” can change a thing that was a problem into a plan of action.
(There are many other darker interpretations of this song, but I like mine and am sticking with it)

My Dad’s father was a tailor by profession. Here’s a pic of him in his shop in the 1950’s! While growing up, Oupa van der Merwe made all my Dad’s smart wear clothes. So Dad was a snappy dresser. My song today is one he loved and often sang around the house. I don’t know if he had a white sport coat, but a buttonhole carnation would have been just his thing. Marty Robbins released this song in 1957, and here he is on stage in 1981

This song was supposed to be for the girls but the version I am attaching is for everyone and especially the guys. A fun tune for a Monday.
Paul – One for the ladies
One for the ladies. Item of clothing being referred to here? Well, you can see for yourselves. Must say, someone else in the crowd seemed to like them more than others ………. eek!
Paul – And my REAL song choice …
As for my song choice, my first choice that came to mind was the same as Zosia’s. Great song!
Then I’d always liked the second choice, mainly because this is (in my opinion) the real way this particular item of clothing is meant to be worn. Not that I don’t like the other ways the same article is worn nowadays, but I just feel this is the real deal. To me, sometimes “More is more”, not “less is more”.

If you are asking what this song has about clothing, in the chorus he sings “take your cat but leave my sweater” BOOM project passed

I have never thought much of the kilt as a practical garment. Well not since Monty insisted on us wearing them into battle at El Alamein when it was so friggen cold not to mention that awful sandstorm that followed. Here is Andy Stewart who sees the fun side of it.

“Pink shoelaces” by Dodie Steven’s.This is an old but fun song that I have always loved. It was released in 1959 when she was13!! This video was made in concert ,I think, 4 years ago.
So, get up and dance and enjoy the fun lyrics.
