Karen

Ed Sheeran – Perfect Symphony [with Andrea Bocelli]

Love the music produced individually and together by these gentlemen….

Arno

Bad Wolves – Hear Me Now feat. DIAMANTE

Johnny Clegg – I’ve Been Looking ft. Jesse Clegg

This theme really offers a wide choice of songs. I have decided to bring it home.

Jessie Clegg: It’s a very personal song to me and was written in a moment in my life where I had to come to terms with losing someone (my father) and it was really important for me to capture the emotion of the words visually,”

Enjoy Johnny and Jesse singing “I have been looking” during Johnny’s final world tour in 2017.

Somewhere – The Best Duet Ever

My song is “Somewhere” dedicated to those that have lost someone. The song was written by Sharon den Adel from Within Temptation performed here with Anneke van Gieksbergen from Gatherings. They are supported by the Metropole Orchestra and the Pa’dam choir in Rotterdam. I dedicate this song to the people of Ukraine.

Esther

Andrea Bocelli, Céline Dion – The Prayer

My song tonight is dedicated to the love of my life, whose birthday is also on Monday. I hope you enjoy it.

Endless Love – Lionel Richie ft. Diana Ross (Boyce Avenue ft. Connie Talbot cover)

You all know I’m a fan and surfer of YouTube music. What I love about this music is the vast majority of rising musical stars publish only to YouTube, so there is an endless variety of music you probably won’t hear on the charts.
One of these is a group by the name ‘Boyce Avenue’ who do mostly covers with guest singers.

Here they are doing a beautiful rendition of an old Lionel Ritchie favourite, Endless Love.
The guest is the wonderfully accomplished Connie Talbot, who rose to fame singing in BGT at the age of 6 and came second that year. Enjoy!

Liezel

Christina Aguilera ft. with Hologram of Whitney Houston – I Have Nothing

Two epic voices in a wonderful duet.

Wilfred

Cover Me In Sunshine (metal cover by Leo Moracchioli & Daughter)

I know Leo is not everyone’s fav on this group, but still, this song deserves air time.

Here is a duet with his daughter. As he said himself: “Proud father moment here”. I can believe that it was a super proud parent thing. She is still young and inexperienced, but she certainly has the spirit and energy. I just love the interaction between them.

Hope this tune sticks in your head as it does in mine.

Chrisna

Faouzia & John Legend – Minefields (Live on The Kelly Clarkson Show)

Richard

Tony Bennett, Lady Gaga – The Lady is a Tramp (from Duets II: The Great Performances)

Here’s what you get when two superstars get together to perform a Rogers and Hart classic-pure pleasure.

Paul

Loving You · Barbra Streisand · Patrick Wilson

Short story long ……

When I went looking for duets, I was looking for something different, not the usual stuff I would think of.
So again, this group and theme took me on a bit of a “journey”. And boy, was it fun.

It’s amazing what happens when you touch on the “top layer” of duet songs. Then into another layer, and then delve deeper into other layers. It also helps when YouTube suggests songs.

That’s when I stumbled onto the absolutely brilliant Barbra Streisand “Encore” series. I saw one video, then another, then I realised it was a whole string of them.

It’s basically an album with movie stars.

You can read up on it here, and see who was included.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Encore:_Movie_Partners_Sing_Broadway

The series was really fun – it included a short video on the song and the reactions of the actors when they got the call from Barbra, and then you had the song itself as well (but with no music video though).

Anyhow …… one song really stood out as a WOW, purely because I had no idea this guy could sing.
Take a listen!

THIS IS NOT THE SONG – But the short video. Watch it if you want.

Lynda

Francois van Coke & Karen Zoid – Toe vind ek jou

Decided to choose a local duet – local is mos lekker🤭 Enjoy!

Deborah

Labrinth – Beneath Your Beautiful ft. Emeli Sandé

Timothy Lee McKenzie, better known as Labrinth, and Emeli Sandé. I think that “Beneath your Beautiful” is about being vulnerable in love.
