The Sound Of Style

FASHION & CLOTHING (and other stufffffffffff)…

This time we’re stepping onto the runway of music! Our theme celebrates everything stylish, wearable, and iconic. Think songs about jeans, hats, shoes, jewelry, or even famous brands like Adidas, Nike, Armani. You can go high fashion with magazines like “Vogue,”, keep it casual with shirts and sneakers, or anything in between. A feather boa will even be considered (that was requested by a friend in the audience … ).

If it’s about fashion, clothing, or accessories — it fits the theme. So dust off your playlists and let your imagination dress the part! 🎵👠

Geordie and Brian Johnson are a hard rock band from Newcastle on Tyne in the 70’s.
This is their their version of “House of the rising sun” which featured in the movie “In Brugge”

The expression “to put on the Ritz” emerged in slang before Irving Berlin’s wrote the song ‘Puttin’ on the Ritz’ in 1927.
It means to dress in a very fashionable, elegant, or expensive manner, indicating wealth and sophistication, drawing inspiration from César Ritz’s lavish hotels.
The song gained further fame through its inclusion in movies, such as the 1946 film Blue Skies, and a popular 1982 cover and music video by Taco, which is my song choice tonight.

This song struts in with big riffs, beards, and attitude – the band’s iconic look was almost as stylish as their music.
And here’s a fun twist: drummer Frank Beard is the only member without a beard! 😎

Had 3 songs that I struggled to choose from, but decided that Wearing Sunglasses at Night would match my cool mood today.

Enjoy an old favorite.

Here comes my song. An oldie but it fits the theme. The visuals are effective. Enjoy

Adam Ant was one of the most flamboyant fashion icons of the early ’80s new wave scene — known for his military jackets, face paint stripes, boots, frilled shirts, and overall pirate-meets-dandy look. His entire persona was theatrical and style-driven, making him a walking runway.

Dodie Stevens recorded “Pink Shoelaces” in 1959 when she was just 13 years old. The song tells the story of a quirky boyfriend named Dooley and his eccentric fashion choices.

“He’s not good-looking, heaven knows, but I’m wild about his crazy clothes.”

My friend Mitch plays a pretty mean guitar. He also plays a mouth organ and doesn’t have a bad voice either. He’s the ideal guy to have around at your next camp fire or house party. If you’re interested I will pass on his contact details.

Almost chose Iconic Madonna. Then thought of Jackson. Then Lady Gaga, Britney, Beyoncé, Rihanna, and then we watched a series called Vigil and that song was 🤯

Played the song on YouTube and Wowie, the fashion!

Was wondering how those people lived like that. Pants, jackets, hats, ladies with probably 5 layers of stuff. All dark colours. Walking everywhere in what must have been the most uncomfortable shoes.

Ok rambling.

Enjoy!

The Devil Wears Prada is a musical adaptation of Lauren Weisberger’s 2003 novel of the same name, as well as the 2006 film written by Aline Brosh McKenna. The show features music by Elton John, lyrics by Shaina Taub and Mark Sonnenblick, and a book by Kate Wetherhead.

The production stars Vanessa Williams as Miranda Priestly and Matt Henry as Nigel, with Georgie Buckland originating the role of Andy, the story’s protagonist.

“The song Dress Your Way Up gives a vibrant look into the exciting world of fashion.”
