Turn It All the Way Up
This round we go loud, bold, and full-throttle.
Bring a song that makes you want to turn the volume up and feel everything—joy, freedom, ridiculousness.
No quiet bangers, no mid-tempo groovers—this is a theme is all about head bobs, body rolls, chair dancing, or full living room chaos.

Nina Lee – Go Baby Go

Role models play an important part in my life.
Some of those role models I have found through music, and today’s artist is such a role model.
If she offers life changing advice, I’m going to do exactly what she asks – because she is worth following:
Time was flying but I was rooted in my blues
When I looked up, all I saw was myself
Standing in my own way
Nobody else but me can set me free
So now when I’m looking at that winding road
I say, “Go, baby, go, go, go”.
That’s motivational!
For reference, I have included a picture of her. Worth following indeed.

AC/DC – Thunderstruck
If you knew Bella Napoli nightclub back in the day, this was kinda their floor-closer, and “Good-bye and thank you, but get the hell out now and go home” song. We all used to know it was the last song, so whatever energy we had left, would all be expended in the last 4 minutes of the evening. It was nuts!

RUN DMC – Walk This Way ft. Aerosmith
“Walk This Way” is a turn-it-all-the-way-up song for me.
I hadn’t realised how old it was – originally released in 1975, it was one of the songs that helped put Aerosmith into the mainstream, and then helped to revitalise the band when it was covered by hip hop group Run-D.M.C. (in collaboration with Aerosmith) on their 1986 album Raising Hell.
This cover was a touchstone for the new musical subgenre of rap rock, the melding of rock and hip hop. It became an international hit, reaching number 4 on the Billboard chart. Both versions are in the Grammy Hall of Fame.

John Travolta & Uma Thurman dancing Let’s Twist Again – Pulp Fiction scene
My teenage years offered the best music and dancing that you can imagine. Loved those years!!!
Feeling free and wild. We danced in the lounge. On the beach (in our bikinis) and at the Methodist church.
Most popular were – The Twist . Followed by a medley of music and novelty dances like, the hitchhiker, the batman, mash potato and the swim. Chubby Checker’s song “Let’s Twist Again” in the movie Pulp Fiction featuring John Travolta and Una Thurman gives us a peek into that era with fondness and nostalgia.
Wilfred. Sharing the dance moves with you. Although they say men over 50 don’t dance.

Scorpions – Rock You Like A Hurricane
Turn It All the Way Up – Scorpions, “Rock You Like a Hurricane”
When the brief said loud, bold, full-throttle, this track was the first that came to mind. No quiet build-ups, no subtle grooves—just pure, unapologetic chaos that grabs you from the first riff. The Scorpions deliver that electric surge where you can’t help but crank the volume, throw your head back, and let it take over. It’s joy, rebellion, and ridiculous fun all rolled into one.
Because sometimes, the only right answer is to turn it all the way up—and let the hurricane hit.

Swedish House Mafia ft. John Martin – Don’t You Worry Child
This song… well, it’s definitely not a Sunday hymn, and if Elvis already feels a bit too daring for you, then I owe you an apology in advance. 😂
But here’s the deal: I love it, it’s pure goosebumps, and it’s too good not to share. Straight from the land of meatballs and IKEA, the Swedes brought us this dance-floor masterpiece.
