Spring Serenade

Spring will be upon us soon. Share a song that embodies what spring means to you.

Well …. Not many will get this unless you’re a bass fisherman ……….
Springtime for us is like the Superbowl of fishing time – Bass fish are spawning at this time of year and that’s the time you need to be out on the water to catch some “Big Mommas”.
So in opening, this is exactly what goes through our minds when Springtime comes – FISHING!

This video is done by a professional bass fishing legend named Alton Jones. I mean, he has only earned $3million in prize money alone, excluding sponsorship deals, endorsements, and what not. Pfffft!!!

Enjoy a little Country Music

Some people go fishing in spring while some take to the road on bicycles. The reason cycling is more popular than fishing is the essential equipment. A bicycle and the proper cycling shoes. Enjoy!

My choice is what makes me love the nature of Spring and the bright sunshine that goes with it. PINK out in the open and not in a recording studio or performance with all the bells and whistles. I live the simplicity of this song and the message of happiness that goes with it.

I never went to San Francisco, but it looks like it could have been fun and feels like new beginning, just like spring. This song always brings a sense of calm to me.

Four leaf clovers, roses in the lane and unexpected pleasures that come with spring.

So many fabulous versions of this beautiful song that it is impossible to choose a favourite. I went for an alternative take.

Spring in the Western Cape and surrounding farms lands are magnificent fields of gold. You can drive in any direction and you will be in awe of the Canola fields.

Who better to talk about spring fever than a man who
knows?
From the 1965 movie Girl Happy is the king singing Spring Fever.
I was around at the time, so remember it fondly! ????

Spring brings hope of sunshine.

This song just gives me that happy vibe of spring, summer, and all great things still to come. Enjoy!

There’s something about this song that always stirs the same emotions Spring does for me. At first, I can’t quite put my finger on why. But let’s go down the rabbit hole and see what we uncover?

Maybe it’s the catchy beat and the playful vibe that echoes the excitement of new beginnings. Or perhaps it’s the birds in Spring, performing their little “fan dances” to impress potential mates, while entertaining the rest of us.

The thought of “birds doing a fan dance” also takes me to one of my favorite movies, The Birdcage, where there’s a different kind of “fan dance” going on. (The humor of a wild plot with Robin Williams, Nathan Lane, and Gene Hackman doesn’t hurt either!)

Every time I hear this amazing song, I’m transported to one of my favorite scenes, featuring the character Agador in all his colorful, energetic glory. His dance reminds me of how I love to “spring clean”— while dancing and listening to great music all at once.

It seems there’s a web of connections here, leading me to why this is my Spring song. I hope you enjoy Gloria Estefan & Miami Sound Machine, along with the fun bonus clip that always puts a spring in my step!
