Genre-bending Covers

Songs that are covers in a different genre than the original.

I had 3 options, but decided to go with this one as the dramatic behaviour, clothes and music all crossed over the genres for music, clothes and behaviour. Enjoy!!!

At the flat earth society we have long believed that the lyrics to many songs by the Beatles were plaguerised from unpublished poems by the likes of Blake, Yates, Byron and Shakespeare. I submit this song as proof. I have forfeited danceability for cultural entertainment.

Hardwell & Maddix – Bella Ciao (Live Video)

After a variety of great songs I found, this particular one just kept hitting the spot for me.

Firstly, it’s my favourite music genre (Hardstyle trance music).
Secondly: it just happened to be one of my favourite DJ’s – bonus!
Thirdly: The event itself that this is played at (Tomorrowland), just blows my mind. I spend the whole weekend sometimes just watching and livestreaming it from Europe (it takes place in summer there, and it’s winter in SA, so I can!)

The other songs I found were well mastered too, from Jazz versions, to Rock, Pop, even a few hilarious comical Richard-type genre’s.

Many would argue that this music is just noise, and I’m OK with that – each to their own. But if you know the work that goes into making these tunes (they have to study music and music production), and the hard work these guys put in, in my mind it’s mastery on a different level.

Elke guitarist het sy eie genre represent asook sy eie styl.

Ok. I thought I could play two Justin Bieber songs. Like a Christmas Carol and another that has nothing to do with Christmas.
But Chrisna assures me that’s not how this theme works, and I can’t do that. ????

Gypsy kings whose members are French bring a Spanish flavour to their music. Enjoy “Hotel California” with a flamenco flare.

Many of you will recognise this song, Seasons in the Sun by Terry Jacks, that was a world wide hit in 1974. In fact it was originally released by Jacques Brel in 1961.

Original:

First released in 1968 this is the version Amy Winehouse made her own.

Original song by Canadian rock band Nickelback. Written by lead singer Chad Kroeger and composed by the band, the track was released on July 17, 2001. This cover version by Avril Lavigne is pretty good.

Sting has always found a way to coerce deep emotions with his songs (well the ones I really like). I’ve always loved this song, there’s just something about not losing faith in the one you love – in my case my gorgeous son Jayden. This version by Disturbed however… man that sound with Sting’s words … it’s impossible to describe the effect on me …

Ladies and gentlemen …

Easy on Me” is a song by English singer Adele from her fourth studio album, 30 (2021). Adele wrote the song with its producer, Greg Kurstin.

Herewith the great reggae version by Conkarah and Rosie Delmah.
