Bad Wolves – Remember When
Nothing like starting a family theme with a dysfunctional family story. “Remember When” is a harrowing song inspired by frontman Tommy Vext’s difficult relationship with his twin brother. It tells the story of how the two boys were at one time close, “stealing records, skipping school” together. Years later, the pair were estranged when Tommy’s homeless, intoxicated and desperate brother broke into the singer’s Brooklyn apartment and wounded him during an attempted robbery.
And now I’m tired of the violence
I’m so tired of the sirens
And it’s better me, better me than you
Vext told Kerrang: “My twin brother is currently serving 17 years for attempted murder – he tried to kill me during a home invasion when he was high in 2010. (Testifying against him) was definitely one of the more difficult moments of my life.”
He added: “‘Remember When’ kinda goes through a timeline and highlights two people who lived the exact same life and had the exact same hardships and advantages and disadvantages, and who we are ultimately as adults is defined by the choices that we made, and our lives reflect those choices.”

Boney M – We Kill the World (Don’t Kill the World) – 1981 Remastered
I enjoyed a wonderful happy childhood and wanted my 3 daughters to have the same. I was on the road a lot so Sunday mornings with my girls was special. We would visit the parks and explore exciting places. There would always be music playing in the car and we would sing along. This particular one was their favorite. A frightening reminder what our generation has done.

Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young – Teach Your Children
This song is from a 1970 album. Crosby Stills, Nash and Young pass this strong
message to both children and parents, advising either party to treat each other well.
It’s a story that depicts the challenges of raising kids and growing old and how each
generation is important to the other, feeding off each other’s dreams. It’s a realization
that we will always need our family, young and old alike, no matter our age.

Familie Song – Die Melktert Kommissie
My song toninght is about family always standing together. Trusting each other comeraderie, and always having faith in the person, who was always Johann as the man of the house. Whenever we went on hikes he would be the leader of the pack. Johann, myself and our four kids, with SJ and Hettie our good hiking buddies. Wheneve we reached camp we would take out our meat and always a good bottle of wine, the guitar and sing till late. So in the years I learnt to always be there for each other, no matter how difficult the terrain is I hope you enjoy this song. Sung by Melktert Kommisie familie.

Nat King Cole – Unforgettable
For me this song brings back so many wonderful memories of my Mom & Dad – they loved Nat King Cole. I remember my Dad playing this record on the turntable of his self-made music cabinet (which we still have on the farm) on a rainy Sunday afternoon. We all used to gather in the lounge and listen to their music – Nat, Jim Reeves and many more.
This is a real blast from the past! Enjoy🎶

Josh Groban – You’re Still You (From In Concert)
YOU’RE STILL YOU by JOSH GROBAN
I have chosen this song as it epitomizes how I feel about my older sister. She faces every challenge in life with intelligence and fortitude and although as children we were not particularly close because of the age gap she has always been there for me. We have a really good relationship and I treasure her beyond words. She has achieved so much in her life and has never compromised on her personal values.

The Notebook • I Knew I loved You • Savage Garden
My song choice is about eternal love, commitment and never giving up. My parents met while they were both already engaged to be married to other partners.
They fell in love and eloped (breaking of their other engagements).
They were married for 62 years. My father was always gaga about my mother.
Always hugging her, loving her and tolerating her even when she was irritable.
My mother in her last years suffered with Alzheimer’s. My father loved, cared and looked after her until she had to go into frail care. He lived another 6 years after her passing.
Every time I saw him he would say. I miss her, I love her and told me stories of the things he loved and missed about her.
The day my father passed, his room (where my mother had never been) smelled of her favourite White Diamond perfume. ??
Their story is so similar to the true love story
of William and Lillian Wilson which the movie “The Notebook” was based on.
I do not want anybody to be sad. This is a story and song about true love and commitment.
