Moby – Honey / Bessie Jones – Sometimes (Cover)

Bessie Jones was an American gospel and folk singer.

Jones’ 1960 song “Sometimes” was sampled in Moby’s 1998 single “Honey”.

I love this soulful cover of “Honey” by Keedooh.

Elvis Presley – Crawfish (Film King Creole)

If you saw this Elvis Presley movie when it was first released, then you could have been in the queue outside the Plaza in Rissik street with my sisters and I. Set in the French quarter in New Orleans it also starred a young actor called Walter Matthau. Some good vintage Presley. You gotta wonder about the friendly sailor in the closing scene.

Harry Belafonte – Day-O (The Banana Boat Song) (Live)

This has been a favourite of mine since I was a little girl.

Louis Armstrong – All That Meat And No Potatoes

His music had such an important effect on jazz history that many scholars, critics, and fans call him the first great jazz soloist. Armstrong’s influence extended far beyond jazz; the energetic, swinging rhythmic momentum of his playing was a major influence on soloists in every genre of American popular music.

Enjoy Satchmo, Satch, Pop at his best🎼

Hot Butter – Pop Corn (Dance)

In 1969, Gershon Kingsley entitled and album “Music to Moog By” (Moog synthesiser music was very big at the time), which includes “Popcorn”.
In 1972, Stand Free, a fellow member of the First Moog Quartet, rerecorded “Popcorn” with his band Hot Butter.
It proved enormously popular in mainland Europe, spending several weeks at No. 1 in numerous European countries, including France, Switzerland, Germany, Netherlands and Norway. It was also the biggest selling single in France and Switzerland.
Here is the original version (long before the Crazy Frog became involved), with a group of dancers (unknown) performing the Popcorn dance.

Karen

Ashley Tisdale – Lemons (Lyric Video)

The song deals with mental health issues, and is a reminder for us all to look after ourselves and each other. 🤗💞
